eating place. they'd decided that the round things with holes were too
much trouble to get, and so they went to have round flat things and
other round things with meat and egg between them. yummy!
dot was early, splat was late, and poof was the last. poof came dripping
and looking poof-lesser due to the mean old uncle who refused to drive
him right to the eatery, choosing to stop faaaaaar away instead.
so the three had breakfast, then poof and dot tagged along while splat
headed to the book institution across the road to broaden her horizons
and deepen her knowledge.
as they were skipping happily along the road, poof gave a warning shout
and pointed to the floor.
'watch out, snake!'
splat jumped, gave a mini shriek and scooted out of the way.
dot screeched to a stop and leapt out of harm's way too.
snake, snake, SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
splat had never seen a snake apart from in books, tv, magazines or the
zoo before. it was terrifying!
poof cocked his eyebrow. it was only a titchy small snake, and though
he hadn't seen one right in front of him before it wasn't so bad.
dot edged a little closer. she wanted to take a photo with her techno-
gadget flip thing. cor, snake! now she would have a snakey snake in her
flippy.
but splat was really scared, her legs were shaking, rather invisibly, but
still shaking. 'let's get out of here, faast!'
so the other two gave in and the trio made their way across the
bridge.
from then on,
splat never walked anywhere again without looking at the ground.
poof continued looking at the ground as he walked cos, he thought he
would find more interesting things! to maybe scare splat with.
dot resumed her regular bounce-walk. maybe splat or poof would do
something to make her laugh again!
the end.

have been hanging out quite a lot with the gang this week.
cny dinner at yeo's hse on tues, then belated bdae dinner at ming's hse last night..
but it was all good fun. and not to mention the beautiful houses! O.o seriously, some of my friends have HUGE houses. which are really nicely furnished. when i was in yeo's house, i felt like i was in a motel or chalet of some sorts! i mean, they had a corridor, for goodness sake! wow. and 6 to 7 cars could fit into the driveway. yes, i counted the number of cars that were there since the guys drove. and someone can make fantastic bread pudding, man. i want more! :P
pity i had to leave earlier last night, hadn't even gotten to my turn at taboo!!
ah, taboo.. brings back great memories with the choir pple. :) :) :) somehow i think 'cos we're allowed to skip when we play with the batch, the pace of the game was faster! plus the hype and excitement was there. miss u guys!! when's our next outing???
and yesterday had it's usual share of pranks.. i swear the pranks all start with a certain mr su la.. yeo tried scaring ming a couple of times, VERY unsucessfully. he bounded out of the closet with a huge ROARRR twice when ming was not around only to greet our extremely amused and 'ur-so-cmi-at-this' faces.
finally we managed to persuade ming to open the closet with our cries of 'we wanna play monopoly! do u have monopoly?' and so he did, and this time yeo went RAWRRR the minute the closet was opened and ming got a rude scare. ha!
ah well, but that probably couldn't compare to the pranks played at yeo's house. they managed to scare 8, EIGHT people with exactly the same prank by getting them to go into the room one by one!
according to ling, hers was the scariest cos on top of getting scared when she opened the closet to 'get dvds' (man how easily we get tricked) she had such a shock that she fell back onto the bed (which all the rest of the 7 did too) and yu who was hiding underneath the bed grabbed her ankles! so it was a double shock. but apparently ling crushed yu when she fell onto the bed ( i dunno how, don't ask) so yu never hid there again. phew for the rest of us.
i really wish i could go.
i know they're all wondering why too. but i'm just a girl, and i'm just not allowed to. that's the bottom line.
maybe next time, huh. :)
and yes, i know you'll probably never read this but: thank youu for walking all the way to school with me! :)

am doing the evaluations for term 2's courses now.. after going thru half a term.
extremely tempted to just scold the heck out of the imbecile who came up with this core we're spending so much time on, and just for what? one measly credit.
don't do well, and all our efforts would have just gone down the drain. seriously.
liasing with the schools, going down for weekly practices, endless meetings, speaking in front of the few hundred, mebbe a thousand to-be students during assembly, designing the website, planning the mini exhibition and cd-rom...
what an absolute waste of my time.
do well, and we'll say we'd better, for all the effort we put in, we don't expect anything less.
all the things we'd heard from our peers who took it during the 1st half of year 1, they're all true.
and the things we reflect on in our journals, don't believe a word of it.
but of course i won't take it out on the poor, self-sacrificial soul who takes our class every week and tries her darndest best to inject humour by relating her life stories... only to make almost every lesson sound like marriage counselling or just a rehash of ct or comms. (told ya it's a waste of time.)
so here it is, all written above. and those were my nicer sounding thoughts. i'd already typed out my immediate response in CAPS but i guess i'll delete them later. how nice of me.
i can't wait for this term to end, really. where's my fast-forward button?

He is able to wound
He is able to heal
He is able to reprove
He is able to forgive
Though your spirit may be wounded
Or your heart be filled with grief
If you're proud you'll have no hope
But the humble no defeat
Fall upon your knees
Cry out to your Maker
He will hear you
'Cause He's your secret place
Fall upon your knees
Bow before your Maker
He will deliver you
'Cause He's your secret place
He gives strength to the weary
He gives power to the weak
When you go to Him in secret
And lay prostrate at His feet
Nothing is impossible for our God... and only He can fill that empty hole in our hearts.
I've tried filling it up with books, great results, tv, movies, friends, computer.... but I was left high and dry. God I'm coming back to You again, mould me into what You want me to be!
Fall upon your knees- not only a physical act but also a spiritual act of surrender.
Lord, I surrender my life into Your hands today, I give you all my hopes, my plans, my struggles, my worries, my joy and sorrows.. I place them in Your Hands.
I can't do it all on my own, I'm not strong enough, but with You I know I can.
